Silver Medal for Namibian Beach Volleyball players at Zone 6 in Zambia

Three Beach Volleyball teams, two men & one ladies, of which all, except one player are u19, traveled to Siavonga, Zambia, last week.

As there are no u19 Zone 6 tournaments (Southern African FIVB Tournaments) offered for 2022, the Namibian Volleyball Federation (NVF) has decided to give the u19 players an opportunity to gain international experience at the senior tournaments.

After a long and tiring drive of 28 hours from Windhoek via Katima Mulilo to the beautiful Lake Kariba, in Zambia, the sisters, Romy (17) & Piroschka (14) Lück made the 5th place in the ladies category.

In the men's category Roman Dainat (16) & Max Krafft (16) achieved 9th place. The team of Jan-Eric Sack (25) & Fabian Biederlack (17) managed to prevail against eleven other teams to play the finals against Jack & Chiswaniso from Botzwana.

Winning a real "unexpected-" silver medal for Namibia put the whole team and the NVF Beach Director, Achim Lück, who accompanied the team, into exaltation and delight. And made up for all the effort, time put into training and travel, organization and players-, coaches finances.

During the closing ceremony Namibia was specially praised at the Zone 6 event as being a role model in youth development by the Chairman of ZAVA.
