SKW fun tournament, 12 August 2017

SKW U7 and U9 coaches organized a fun tournament on Saturday, 12 August to give the young football players more playing time at competing with teams of other clubs. The tournament was very well organized – A big thank you to all SKW coaches and parents who made this great event possible.

Several teams from SKW, Ramblers, Athletic Club (ACFA) and DTS joined the tournament at the SKW sports grounds.

U7 was organized in two round robin streams for the young football professionals (A Stream) and the even younger development players (B stream – mostly five and six years old) with 4 teams respectively. No medals were to be won, but the SKW had prizes for the best goal keeper and best field player of each stream.

U9 played a round robin with six teams (3 SKW, 2 DTS, 1 ACFA), giving more playing time to the development players who couldn’t make it into the other official tournaments or leagues.

U7 A stream

DTS Eagles won the third place in a competitive group with motivated and hard-working youth soccer teams from SKW (1st place), Ramblers (2nd) and ACFA (4th). There are a lot of talented players in all teams of this age group and we are all looking forward to the next tournaments.
SKW won the prizes for both the best goal keeper and best field player.

U7 B stream

The DTS Hawks won the hearts of the audience with yet another dedicated and charming performance. They made it into the final which they lost 3:2 against SKW Wilde Kerle, another great team from the hosts. ACFA won the third place, Ramblers became fourth.

Tangeni Haufiku from DTS won the prize for the best goal keeper and Jojo Kaviko also from DTS won the prize for the best field player. We have remarkable talents amongst our youngest players.

Under 9

The U9 teams fought hard in yet another very tight tournament with superb teams from DTS, SKW and Athletic club. In the end the DTS Lions came fifth and the DTS Pumas secured the fourth place. SKW Mambas won the enthralling final against ACFA 4-3.
